“While walking by the Sea of Galilee, He saw two brothers, Simon (who is called Peter) and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea, for they were fishermen. And He said to them, ‘Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.’ Immediately they left their nets and followed Him.” – Matthew 4:18-20
How do we react to Jesus’ calling? Do we leave our “nets” and follow? Do we put down the things of this world to follow Him? Is our job getting in the way? Is our fun distracting us from Him? No, we’re not called like the disciples were called. Jesus chose twelve very deliberately. But He’s still calling. He’s still asking for followers. It’s in love that He desires for us to choose Him. It’s not complicated. There isn’t a lot to go into depth about. He died for you so that you could be saved from this world. He died for me so that I could be saved too. Will we accept His gift of love? There’s life in it. There’s life in Him. He offers a life unlike any other. He promises an everlasting, joyous, and perfected life of love. Say yes!
“Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with Me.” – Jesus – Revelation 3:20
